On December 13, the FNRS awarded its Incentive grants for scientific research to thirteen researchers, including six from the Université libre de Bruxelles. Among the latter are Wiener-Anspach Alumni Nathalie Brack, Corentin Caudron and Guillaume Schweicher.
Nathalie Brack, Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, was selected for her project “Post-Truth Politics and Political Parties: to what extent and why do political parties use conspiracy discourse on social media?”. A Wiener-Anspach postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oxford in 2013/2014, Nathalie was also the co-promoter, together with Ramona Coman, Amandine Crespy and Christopher Bickerton, of the ULB-Cambridge research project “Conflicts of sovereignty in a European Union in crisis”, supported by the Foundation from 2018 to 2021. On 23 February 2023, with the support of the Foundation, Nathalie Brack will present the project selected by the FNRS at the University of Cambridge, where she will be welcomed by Professor Bickerton.
The project presented by Corentin Caudron, Assistant Professor at the Department of Geosciences, Environment and Society, is entitled “Unraveling the mechanisms of Calderas’ unrest by monitoring Sounds underwater”. Corentin was granted a Wiener-Anspach postdoctoral fellowship in 2015/2016 to carry out a year of research at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Cambridge.
Finally, Guillaume Schweicher, FNRS Research Associate at the Faculty of Science, was awarded an MIS for his research project “Reach/preserve coherence of charge transport in organic and hybrid semiconductors in order to elucidate their charge transport mechanisms”. Like Corentin, Guillaume was a Wiener-Anspach Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge, where he worked in the Optoelectronics Group from 2014 to 2016.
