Established in 1994, the Ganshof van der Meersch Prize rewards a student from the Faculty of Law and Criminology of the ULB who achieved academic excellence in the study of public and international law. Fiona Argenta received the prize from Professor Kristin Bartik, Executive Director of the Foundation, during the awards ceremony of the Faculty of Law and Criminology held on April 23, 2024.
Fiona Argenta obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Maastricht University, an LLM from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s in Gender Studies from University College London. She graduated in 2023 from the ULB magna cum laude where she undertook a Master’s Degree in Public and International Law. Now a member of the ULB Centre of International Law, she is carrying out a doctoral research (supervisor: Prof. Anne Lagerwall) with a FNRS grant, in which she offers to rethink human rights in the face of climate change through a posthumanist analysis.
